About
Jonathan is an American Drummer best known for his work with musical artists such as Big Data, (whose single “Dangerous (feat. Joywave)“ hit #1 on the Billboard Alternative Charts) HAERTS (Columbia Records), Morningwood (Capitol Records), and Shontelle (Platinum-selling artist). He has most recently appeared on the two-time Emmy Award-winning series, ‘POSE’, on FX. Other notable performances include Jimmy Kimmel Live, The MTV Logo Awards, ‘Vh1’s You Oughta Know’ series. Jonathan can also be seen and heard on various Television Commercials and Voiceover spots, having been the lead for a Bacardi television advertisement, Mountain Dew and Ritz Crackers.
Jonathan is also the co-founder of Burwood Music Club, a creative audio agency, which recently scored the film “Flower”, starring and written by the world-renowned ballet dancer, Misty Copeland, which had it’s World Premier at Tribeca Film Festival in June 2023.
In 2010, the Colorado native graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Business & Management. Shortly after, he began his professional career by joining Capitol Records’ pop-rock band, Morningwood who was nominated for Best New Artist and performed at the MTV NewNowNext Awards. The band made appearances on multiple late-night television shows and toured with Jet, Papa Roach & Mindless Self Indulgence.
Jonathan later joined his long-time colleagues to form the band, HAERTS. After the successful release of their song, ‘Wings’, they struck up a deal with Columbia Records in December of 2012. The band toured nationally with Washed Out, Atlas Genius, and the Shout Out Louds as well as performed at the Sweetlife and Laneway festivals among many others. Haerts, produced by Jean-Philip Grobler of St. Lucia, completed their debut record at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in NYC.
For several years, Jonathan has been working with electronic-pop artist, Big Data, who has collaborated with artists such as Kimbra, Dragonette, and Rivers Cuomo of Weezer. Following the success of their song “Dangerous”, which hit Number 1 on the Billboard Alternative Charts, Jonathan performed with the band at dozens of festivals with the likes of Passion Pit, Capital Cities, Weezer, Fitz & the Tantrums, OK GO, and Bush.
Jonathan now resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to collaborate with local and national artists, recording drum tracks and voice-overs at his home studio.
